The Town of Banff has completed the Childcare Needs Assessment. We asked for feedback on the current childcare situation in Banff. We are conducted three surveys: Banff families who are using childcare services or are looking for childcare, childcare workers, and employers/businesses in Banff.
This Childcare Assessment was conducted as a result of the 2023 Community Social Assessment (CSA) showing a decline in the number of families living in Banff. During the engagement phase of the CSA, many families indicated childcare, housing and cost of living challenges as primary stressors they are experiencing. Some families shared that these pressures may cause them to move out of the community.
A report with a summary of findings was presented to Banff Town Council on April 28 and shared publicly. See the Documents section on this page to review the report and the What We Heard report of feedback we collected.
As a result of the report, the Town is implementing a number of initiatives with day care providers and expanding districts allowed to have day care space.
