In April-May 2021, the Banff RCMP ran a survey about community policing priorities and communications. We’ve published a What We Heard Report from all the survey feedback. You can see the full report in the documents section of this page.

RCMP initiatives

One of the suggestions from residents was for the local detachment to have a presence on social media. They’ve just created a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RCMPBanff. Follow them for updates and information.

Another outcome of the survey was the creation of regular opportunities to have "Coffee with a Cop," informal engagement in a local restaurant or cafe to share ideas and questions with local police.

The Banff RCMP have also held annual Community Connection events to meet with members of the community about concerns, questions and to share information about policing practices, crime reporting and neighbourhood information. This was a direct outcome of the survey.
