Pedestrian Zone Decommissioned
The 2023 summer Pedestrian Zone is decommissioned and reopened to vehicle traffic on October 12. The Pedestrian Zone was open exclusively to pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders, and transit from May 19 until October 10. This year (2023) was the final year of a 2-year commitment to offer temporary pedestrian zones.
Public Engagement Starts
Public engagement starts with online survey, pop-up tents and meetings with interested groups. The community will be asked to reflect on their experiences with the pedestrian zone. Online Survey runs from October 18 until November 6, 2023.

Banff Town Council discussion on the Pedestrian Zone at annual Service Review meetings. Public input is welcome through written submissions or speaking to council at the beginning of the meeting.
